【摘要】In this article,authors make a quantitative analysis to the income disparity of urban residents in Beijing during 1996 and 1997.They calculate the Gini coefficient,measure and analysis the impact on gini coefficient by major factors related to income disparity such as high income stratum,employment rate,illicit income and revenues created by financial assets. rmer is relatively uncommon and possesses a preservative function.The latter possesses both preservative and practical functions,and occurs when the proportion of uxorilocal marriage is relatively high.Using data from a survey in Lueyang and Sanyuan counties in Shaanxi province,this paper employs logistic regression models in a quantitative comparative study of determinants of the two types of uxorilocal marriage in rural China.We show that the functions of the two types of uxorilocal marriage differ and their determinants are also different.The results indicate the potential importance of encouraging uxorilocal marriage in rural areas as a means of mitigating demographic and social problems that are projected for China's future.
