【摘要】Thepapersystematicallyanalyzestheimpactsofsocialeconomicdevelopment onfertilitybycombiningquantitativewithqualitativemethods,timeseriesanalysis withcross-sectionanalysis.Theresearchconcludesthatthefinaldeterminantof fertilityiseconomicdevelopmentandthateconomicdevelopmentformsthefounda- tionoffertilitydeclineandlongtermconditiontokeeppopulationundercontrol.
