【摘要】The fifth population census shows that the level of urbanization was 36.09%.Because the fifth census used a different standard to enumerate the urban population,the proportion of the urban population in the national total have suffered from incomparability.Based on this level and using an United Nations method,this paper reconstructs two sets of comparable time\|series data on the levels of urbanization in China,one for 1990—2000 and the other for 1982—2000.Authors recommend the second scheme.
