【摘要】On the 1 st Forum of Population Sciences in China in the 21 st Century held on October 17-19 by CPA and PDRC at Peoples University of China, almost all participants have paid much attention to the prospects of the development of population sciences in China in the new century. Thats why we invite here the views on this issue from several scholars. Compared with what we have discussed about "Demography in China: sun-rising or sun-setting?" in our journal forum three years ago, we are pleased to find that population researchers are holding an optimistic attitude toward the development of population sciences in China and its prospects. In the meantime, they have been aware clearly of the current problems existed in this field. We believe such confidence and awareness can be the basis of further development of population sciences in China in new century.
